Lesson human/mockingbirds

Hello everyone,
I just thought I would add a lesson on here.
The post just before this one, with me holding a baby Mocking bird? That is what they look like when the mother is taking them from their FIRST NEST..... Should you see one, DO NOT pick it up, if you do, you run the risk and thrill of moma to the rescue. Should she not convince you to let her child go, OTHER Mocking birds will join her in the beat the human in the head game.
I learned this while trying to put these babies back in their nest. They did NOT fall out, Lady K was TAKING them out. At least FIVE Mocking Birds were after me. This is very frightening and while protecting your face you could run into something. I know my heart has never beat so fast in my life!!!
Anyway, just sit and watch the mom and dad call the babies and see where they move them too, in three days they will be flying every where.
Mocking Birds are VERY fond of grapes and fruit, you might want to set some out for your Mocking Birds... Enjoy!

They have flown the coop.

On June 4th I went out and took these pictures and again, one is out of the nest. I think this nest is just too small.

After helping this little one back into its nest. I put fruit in the basket for Lady K.

On Sat. June 7th. Just four days later. I go out to see the babies and take pictures....

and there is NO ONE LEFT!!!

There are only two babies on the branches of their tree. Mom and Dad and another adult are singing and yelling. They are moving the babies. One is already in place, in my neighbors garden, where they will be shaded in the tender leaves and stems of the crop. They will have easy branch climbing in there for a few days.

As I took these pictures ALL ADULT MOCKINGBIRDS in the area were after me......... I was yelled at, flown into and almost landed on...... YES, I was afraid....

Felt like I was in the movie the birds. LOL

this is the two that were in the tree.

After about an hour, They are called out of the tree and on their way to the garden, one at a time with SPARROWS keeping an eye out. I had noticed the sparrows stayed with the babies or near by the whole time. Now that they are moved the sparrows are over there as well. I guess they are the baby sitters.

Very blurry. Lady K watching me again because I was trying to get pictures of the babies when she moved them... Good bye Lady K. Good luck with your babies, maybe I will see them at the feeders one day soon. I will go pull weeds and start watching the second nest.
